Q: Why does the "Christy" DVD boxed set with Kellie Martin leave off the last episode when she marries the doctor and Fairlight dies? The episode was in the VHS boxed set.

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

The boxed set of the "Christy" TV series doesn't feature her marriage or the death of her beloved friend Fairlight because those things didn't happen in the series.

"Christy," the fan-favorite melodrama set in 1912 Tennessee, unfortunately had its original TV run cut short. The series itself ended on a cliffhanger, as the writers were expecting a renewal for a third season.

Q: Did they make a sequel to "The French Connection"? Was it also based on a true story?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Yes and no. There was, indeed, a (much less celebrated) sequel to the Oscar-winning action classic "The French Connection" (1971). However, it was a completely fictional continuation of the exploits of tough-guy cop Popeye Doyle.

The first film was based on a real case, first recounted in a book by Robin Moore. And for extra authenticity, the real-life narcotics detectives who inspired Doyle (played by Gene Hackman) and his partner Buddy Russo (Roy Scheider) served as consultants on the original.

Jimmy Kimmel Live, on ABC

He may not know what day of the week it is, but Jimmy Kimmel offers up just as many laughs filming his late night talk show from home. Kimmel's unabashed dad-humor and socially-distant interviews make for a down-to-earth brand of silliness.

Force of Nature

When a Category 5 hurricane hits Puerto Rico, the local government calls for the immediate evacuation of apartment buildings. Ray (Gibson), however, refuses to follow the orders, believing that he and his daughter Troy (Bosworth) can tough it out in their unit. His plan for survival goes from ill-advised to absolute chaos as two gangs choose to take advantage of the state of emergency and try to beat each other to a $55-million heist -- and the money is in Ray's building. With no one else to help them but a jaded cop named Cardillo (Hirsch), the father-daughter team has to fight mother nature and the violent criminals with whatever they can find in their home.

Though the situation is tense at first, and the four kids test each other, everything changes when they meet a creature called Psammead (Caine). An ancient being, Psammead has the ability to grant them one wish every day, with the wish lasting until the sun sets. But the magical joy proves to be short-lived, as the consequences of the kids' wishes are unexpected. As the evil Tristan (Brand) chases them with the intention of keeping Psammead for his own selfish purposes, the newly blended family must band together.

Jimmy Kimmel Live

[Donald Trump] was whisked into a panic bunker on Friday as the crowds assembled outside the White House. It took three and a half years, but he finally got that massive crowd to show up for him in D.C.

There have been protests now in all 50 states. And that is a big deal. We can't even get all 50 states onboard for daylight saving time.
