NBC's "The Blacklist" ended on an incredibly weird note forced by the pandemic shutdown — a semi-animated season finale to wrap up the season's story. On Nov. 13, the show returns to the screen — and returns to live action — to continue the twisting saga of Raymond Reddington (James Spader, "Boston Legal) and Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone, "Family Games," 2018).

I can tell you that a "Father Brown" spinoff is indeed in the works, based on a character who appeared in a single episode in Season 1: Sister Boniface — but your last question is a bit trickier.

"The Sister Boniface Mysteries" has been commissioned by BritBox, a new online streaming service operated by two traditional British TV networks: BBC and ITV. But that's the hard part — when it will be available is yet to be determined.

NEXT, on Fox

John Slattery stars as Silicon Valley pioneer in the premiere of this sci-fi thriller. After dedicating his entire life to his innovations, Paul LeBlanc (Slattery) must join forces with police to stop the A.I. he built from destroying humanity.

Q: I hear a number of the "Avengers" actors got matching tattoos but Mark Ruffalo refused. Why?

There's a cool answer to that, and a not-so-cool one. But "Avengers" star Mark Ruffalo was obliging enough to offer both in an interview on "The Tonight Show."

"First of all, I'm afraid of needles," he told host Jimmy Fallon. "So there's that. But also I kind of have a punk-rock soul. And I felt like, 'Dude, everyone has tattoos. I'm gonna be punk rock and not get the tattoo.'"
