What a 'Rush': USA's highly anticipated and exciting new medical drama has been busy bulking up its cast.

"Rush" has been in the works for some time now, and as we rush ever closer to its July 17 premiere, the casting announcements have been coming in fast and furious. Starring Tom Ellis ("Miranda") as Dr. William Rush, a renegade doctor who caters to the rich and famous of L.A., "Rush" is shaping up to be a roller-coaster ride of a show.

Harry Hamlin, best known for his recurring roles in "Mad Men" and "Veronica Mars," has been brought on board into a new recurring role as Dr. Rush's estranged father, a fellow doctor who disapproves of his son's antics. Joining him on set will be the beautiful Rachel Nichols ("Continuum," "Alias") as his younger trophy wife with her own hidden demons to face.

Even the smaller roles are being snatched up by established actors -- usually a good sign for a new show. Jesse Luken ("Justified") and Victoria Smurfit ("Dracula," "The Beach," 2000) will be popping up as guest stars in the second episode.

Filming in Vancouver -- a northern hub of television filming -- "Rush" will also star Sarah Habel ("Whip It," 2009), Odette Annable ("House M.D."), Rick Gonzalez ("Coach Carter," 2005) and Cindy Busby ("Heartland").

There's a lot of medical dramas on TV these days, but "Rush" has an edge that's set to make it stand out from the crowd. Catch its premiere Thursday, July 17, on USA.

Just right: Oprah Winfrey's TV network is beefing up its slate of original programming with an original new drama.

"If Loving You is Wrong" was announced a few months ago under the working title "The Single Moms Club," and as we draw closer to its September premiere, the casting slots have been filling up quickly for the OWN drama.

The ensemble drama will follow the lives of a group of couples all living on the same street. The loving pairs all come from different backgrounds, but with difficult children, fading romances and meddling exes all part of the picture, it's obvious that no matter how different families may seem on the surface, they all face similar difficulties once you dig a bit deeper.

And just who's been cast as these couples? Amanda Clayton ("John Carter," 2012) and Aiden Turner ("All My Children") will play married couple Alex and Brad; Heather Hemmens ("Hellcats") and Eltony Williams ("24") will play a couple struggling with their inability to have children; Zulay Henao ("Love Thy Neighbor") plays a divorced mom caught between her ex (Joel Rush, "Days of Our Lives") and her new boyfriend (Octavio Pizano, "East Los High").

That's quite the cast list -- and that's not even all of it. Also living on the street are characters played by Edwina Findley ("Treme"), April Parker-Jones ("Jericho") and Charles Malik Whitfield ("The Guardian").

That's quite the list of cast members! "If Loving You is Wrong" has one more thing going for it: Tyler Perry. The prolific writer, producer and director already has two hits on his hands on OWN ("The Haves and the Have Nots" and "Love Thy Neighbor"), and "If Loving Your is Wrong" is lining up to be the third. Watch for its premiere in September.

A history of liberty: Their names are legendary. Sam Adams. Paul Revere. John Adams. John Hancock. Joseph Warren.

These were the men who sparked a revolution, and now History is taking a look at an earlier stage in their lives, before the powdered wigs and awe-inspiring speeches.

"Sons of Liberty," a six-part miniseries that begins production this summer, will tell these men's stories as they looked for a purpose in their lives and ended up finding something even greater.

The task of bringing some of America's most storied founders to life on screen is a heavy one, and as usual, History hasn't been stingy with the actors it has brought on board.

Ben Barnes ("Dorian Grey," 2009) has been cast as Sam Adams, the charismatic leader with a love of mischief; Ryan Eggold ("The Blacklist," "90210") will be playing Joseph Warren, the honest and loyal doctor; and Rafe Spall ("Life of Pi," 2012) will be taking on the role of John Hancock, Boston's wealthiest man.

For the important role of Paul Revere, Michael Raymond-James ("True Blood") has come on board, and Henry Thomas ("Gangs of New York," 2002) will play Sam Adams' conservative cousin, John Adams.

Actors cast in other roles include Marton Csokas ("The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," 2001), Emily Berrington ("24: Live Another Day") and Dean Norris ("Breaking Bad") as Benjamin Franklin.
