An ax to grind: Lifetime loves Lizzie. After "Lizzie Borden Took an Ax" premiered to 4.4 million viewers back in January, the A E Networks cabler is bringing the ax-swinging Sunday school teacher back to prime time in a six-hour miniseries set to air in 2015.

"Lizzie Borden: The Fall River Chronicles" will see the infamous ax murderer return to the small screen to tell the story after the story, following Lizzie after her extremely controversial acquittal of the murders of her father and stepmother. Though the account Lifetime gives will be fictional, it's still based on fact, much like their original production.

Back carrying the ax in the titular role is Christina Ricci ("Pan Am," "Sleepy Hollow," 1999), along with Clea DuVall ("Argo," 2012, "Carnivàle"), who'll reprise her role as Lizzie's sister Emma. It's an exciting time for Lifetime's executive vice-president and general manager, Rob Sharenow, as he is more than thrilled to have Ricci back.

"For more than a century, the world has been captivated by the legend of Lizzie Borden, but no one has captured her enigmatic menace as well as Christina Ricci," he said to "Deadline." "This series will take viewers further down Lizzie Borden's dark path, revealing what many people suspected about her mysterious life."

There will also be a new cast of characters stepping in to try to figure out the goings-on in Fall River, Mass., when more people around Lizzie mysteriously meet untimely ends. Cole Hauser ("Good Will Hunting," 1997), Emmy nominee John Heard ("The Sopranos") and Andrew Howard ("Limitless," 2011) have each signed on for the miniseries, and they'll play a detective, a business partner and half-brother, respectively.

"Lizzie Borden took an ax and gave her mother 40 whacks. When she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41." Now, Lifetime is taking another whack at the notorious ax murderer with the six-hour miniseries "Lizzie Borden: The Fall River Chronicles" set to premiere sometime in 2015.

Busy bee: Morena Baccarin is busy, busy, busy! The 35-year-old Brazilian-American actress continues to roll through prime-time television, and she's showing no signs of slowing down.

Baccarin ("V") may have just wrapped up her run in Showtime's "Homeland" -- notching an Emmy nod in the process -- but she's already lined up a number of different roles in the near future, including in a highly popular new superhero drama. The "Firefly" companion will officially make her debut on Fox's "Gotham" as Dr. Leslie Thompkins later this season, with the possibility of being promoted to series regular if (and most likely when) this crime series gets a second-season order.

Fans of the Batman comic book series will know Dr. Thompkins as Thomas Wayne's co-worker and friend, later becoming a confidante for Bruce as she helps take care of him following his parents' murders. Baccarin's Thompkins will first appear on the show early in 2015, where she'll star alongside Ben McKenzie ("The O.C.") and Donal Logue ("Vikings").

It doesn't stop there for Baccarin. Before she takes to the streets of Gotham, she'll star alongside Oscar nominee Minnie Driver ("About a Boy") in the highly anticipated two-night miniseries "The Red Tent," airing Sunday and Monday, Dec. 7 and 8, on Lifetime. Based on the bestselling novel by Anita Diamant, "The Red Tent" tells the story of Dinah (Rebecca Ferguson, "The White Queen"), a minor character from the Old Testament in the Bible. Baccarin stars as Rachel, one of Dinah's four mothers.

But wait! Baccarin has her finger in yet another pie, albeit a slightly smaller one. The upcoming final season of CBS's "The Mentalist" will be bringing back some beloved guest stars from over the years, and Baccarin will reprise her role as the sociopath Erica Flynn.

It's a work schedule that can make even the best workaholic's head spin, but Baccarin is handling it like a pro. Look for the busy bee to pop up in exciting new roles over the next few months.

Circling the tank: There's nothing more intimidating than being swarmed in a tank by a group of hungry, ruthless sharks. They're ready to take a bite out of you at any moment's notice, and it takes someone cunning, skillful and savvy to survive. Of course, I'm talking about the Sharks of big business.

ABC's hugely popular reality series "Shark Tank" premiered its sixth season in September to the best numbers the show has ever seen, with 7.45 million viewers. Now, the alphabet network is taking viewers on an extended journey, following the startup businesses after they strike a deal on the show.

There's no word on when "Beyond the Tank" will hit the airwaves, but with the success of its parent show, it should be intriguing to see how it fares when it finally does. ABC has invested in 10 hour-long episodes, and each episode will catch up with a former "Shark Tank" participant to see how his or her business is making out, how the Sharks' investment helped grow that business and where things are going.

It may be frightening to be surrounded by a group of ferocious sharks, but for some people, it's another walk in the park. "Beyond the Tank" has received a series order from ABC, letting viewers take a peek at life after striking a deal on "Shark Tank." Though there's no set premiere date yet, the alphabet network is hoping for continued success with this new series. Look for it in the near future.
