Q: Any updates on if and when the quirky '90s TV show "Ed," starring Tom Cavanagh, will come out on DVD?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Unfortunately, still no.

I say "still" because people have been calling for a DVD release of "Ed" for years, and people have been discussing why it hasn't happened for nearly as long. And at this point, 15 years after the series finale, the odds of it happening are increasingly slim.

Series co-creator Rob Burnett has blamed the lack of release on two issues: the large number of pop songs on the soundtrack, and the fact that the show's rights are owned by two competing studios.

Whiskey Cavalier, on ABC

CIA operative Frankie Trowbridge (Lauren Cohan) is paired up with FBI agent Will Chase (Scott Foley) on missions around the world in this action-packed series. While Trowbridge is a tough-as-nails spy, Chase is a sensitive soul, still heartbroken over his recent breakup.

NCIS, on CBS

Jimmy's (Brian Dietzen) father-in-law, Ed (Larry Miller), asks him to tamper with evidence from a current murder investigation in this new episode. Meanwhile, Ed's poker buddy, Anthony DiNozzo, Sr. (Robert Wagner), offers to help solve the case.

Q: I just saw the movie "Moana" and found it very entertaining. I got to wondering, is it based on a real Pacific Islander legend?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Yes it is, though of course some liberties were taken. The film's title character seems to be pure Disney fiction, but her (sometimes) heroic sidekick Maui is not.

Maui is presented as a demigod in the film, and he appears as such in many Pacific Island legends. The magical fish hook that drives much of the film's plot also appears in the legends, though the stolen heart of Te Fiti, and the character of Te Fiti herself, do not -- at least not as such.
