Q: Is it true that Ernest Borgnine was almost in "The Godfather"?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

"The Godfather" almost looked very different than it did when it took the cinematic world by storm 1972. But the biggest change that nearly happened was casting sitcom star Ernest Borgnine as Don Vito Corleone, the titular mafia kingpin, instead of Marlon Brando.

Well, that's not exactly true. Borgnine was no nearer to being cast than Anthony Quinn, Richard Conte or Danny Thomas -- reportedly, the studio's preference in the early stages of the film's development was for anybody but Brando.

I'd eat meat if it was a matter of survival. Like, if I was in "The Hunger Games," I'd eat meat. "Meat" is my nickname for Liam Hemsworth.

I've heard that White Castle serves "impossible meat" now. I thought they already served impossible meat because there's no possible way that was ever real meat.

Silicon Valley, on HBO

Thomas Middleditch returns as Pied Piper CEO Richard Hendricks in the sixth and final season of the workplace comedy. The series looks at the modern-day high-tech gold rush from the perspectives of entrepreneurs hoping to strike it rich.
