CW's "Nancy Drew" series, new to the prime-time schedule this fall, and Warner's direct-to-video "Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase," released last March, offered two competing ways to modernize the classic teen sleuth. But it seems that CW's racier version has won.

CW renewed "Nancy Drew" for a second season just three episodes into its first season -- a pretty clear declaration of support.

New Releases for the week of Nov. 24 - 30

Angel Has Fallen 

Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Butler) is back in the third installment of this action-packed series. While President Trumbull (Freeman) relaxes lakeside with his Secret Service detail, a terrifying cloud of drones descend on the idyllic scene and try to kill the president. Even though he manages to save Trumbull, Banning himself is charged with orchestrating the attack and must go on the run to clear his own name and ensure the president's safety. As FBI agent Helen Thompson (Pinkett Smith) chases Banning, he turns to his father (Nolte) for help and discovers that the conspiracy threatening his life is far more insidious than he imagined.

Where'd You Go, Bernadette?

Based on Maria Semple's novel of the same name, this comedy is full of twists and turns and poignant moments. Bernadette (Blanchett) is a loving wife and a doting mom who is not fond of other people or leaving the house. She seems to have the perfect family and a wonderful life until, suddenly, she's gone. As her daughter, Bee (Nelson), and husband, Elgie (Crudup), search for Bernadette, everyone who knows her begins to speculate about where she went and why. As Bee searches for her mother, she learns more about her mom's past, her skills, her personality and her dreams. She begins to understand her mother in a way she never has before, and she uses that insight in her efforts to track her down.

Don't Let Go

When homicide detective Jack Radcliff (Oyelowo) gets a call from his niece indicating that she's in trouble, he races to help, only to find her and her mother murdered. When evidence suggests the crime was a murder-suicide perpetrated by Radcliff's brother, he blames himself and struggles to come to terms with the tragedy. Weeks later, Radcliff receives another phone call from his dead niece's phone, and then another -- he realizes he is able to communicate with her in the past and starts to unravel the events that led up to the murder. When he learns that his brother did not murder his family, he uncovers a ring of dirty cops working for a shadowy figure.
