Today, Nettles is generally better known as DCI Tom Barnaby on "Midsomer Murders," a role he played from 1997 to 2011.
But maybe more people should know about "Bergerac," another cop show that starred Nettles from 1981 to 1991, if only to heal the wound they still feel from Nettles leaving "Midsomer."

That's my way of breaking the news gently, by the way: "If Loving You is Wrong" is finished after five drama-filled seasons on OWN.
We actually knew this a while ago. OWN announced back in February (which seems like a lifetime ago) that the fifth season, airing in the spring, would be the last.
