Q: I saw Harry Shearer and Michael McKean, who did all those mockumentaries together, on separate episodes of "Friends." Is there some connection there?

It goes deeper than just Harry Shearer and Michael McKean. If you look across all 10 seasons of "Friends," you'll see most of the regulars from that series of mockumentaries (comedy favorites such as 2003's "A Mighty Wind" and 2000's "Best in Show"): Shearer, McKean, Jane Lynch, Bob Balaban, Fred Willard and Jennifer Coolidge.

Q: What's going on with the "Walking Dead" Rick Grimes movies?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

The short answer: a lot of background work and hope.

Back in 2018, AMC's hit series "The Walking Dead" made the shocking decision to write out its lead character, Rick (played by Andrew Lincoln, "This Life"). It was soon announced that Rick wasn't leaving the show's universe but rather leaving to star in a "Walking Dead" movie (or maybe trilogy of movies, as has been rumored).

Chicago Med, on NBC

The doctors and nurses at Chicago's leading trauma center struggle to keep it together as they treat patients in this drama from Emmy-winning executive producer Dick Wolf. The ensemble cast includes Yaya DaCosta, Nick Gehlfuss and Oliver Platt.

Q: This past month, "Masterpiece" on PBS ran a story called "Flesh and Blood." It ended abruptly a week ago, leaving many stories incomplete. Maybe it was supposed to end that way, but I hope it continues sometime. Do you know?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

There's been no official word about a second season of "Flesh and Blood." At first blush, it looked more like a miniseries, but the creator said a second season is possible. She said that before the first season aired, though, and no one's said much since. That's not a great sign.

It got great buzz ahead of time, loaded with stars who are a big deal over in Britain, at least (though Imelda Staunton's role as Delores Umbridge in the later Harry Potter films made her a fairly big deal everywhere).

9-1-1, on Fox

LAPD patrol sergeant Athena Grant Nash (Angela Basset) and her husband, LAFD Captain Bobby Nash (Peter Krause), take the lead in this series that tracks the struggles of first responders as they save lives and face dangerous and scarring situations.
