Late Laughs for the week of March 28 - April 3, 2021

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Nothing says "the party of Christian values" like worshipping a golden idol.

That's right, no more masks in Texas! So, if they see you with a bandana over your face, you had better be robbing a stagecoach.

Authorities seized nearly 300 pounds of contraband bologna at the southern border. Take action America, because we can either do something now or see all this play out later in the upcoming series "Narcos: Deli Counter."

The Rookie, on ABC

Tune in for an all-new episode of this procedural drama starring Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, a middle-aged single father who closed his construction company to become the LAPD's oldest rookie. Alyssa Diaz, Titus Makin and Richard T. Jones also star.

"Family Game Fight": Some celebrities can't escape the pressure of projecting perfection in every aspect of their lives, even in their home life. Happily, actor Kristen Bell ("The Good Place") isn't one of them.

Shark Tank, on ABC

Kevin O'Leary, Daymond John, Robert Herjavec, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner and Mark Cuban star in this unscripted business-pitch series. In this rebroadcast, self-cleaning bedding, a headache-relief device and an Italian-inspired snack bar are featured.

Q: What's Deedle-Dee Productions? It seems like their name is at the end of all my favorite shows.

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

The title cards at the end of TV shows can suggest the existence of a company somewhere with a headquarters, an HR department and all the rest, but they're often just people.

This is the case with Deedle-Dee Productions, which is comedy writer Greg Daniels ("The Office") operating under a company name. That's not to say he doesn't have staff, but the shows that feature the garishly colored Deedle-Dee Productions card at the end are the various sitcoms produced and written by Daniels.

The Blacklist, on NBC

This mystery-laden procedural drama's eighth season continues to reveal shocking truths about former career criminal Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) and FBI profiler Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone). The show was recently renewed for a ninth season.

Q: "Manhunt: Deadly Games" was preempted and I never got to see the last episodes. Is there a way to watch them?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

"Manhunt: Deadly Games" has already had a long and complicated broadcast history, and it's only a year old.

As it stands, the places to watch it are on Paramount (the streaming service formerly known as CBS All Access) and Spectrum (another streaming service, but one that's only available in some regions). But given this show's history, that could change at any minute.
