When Isla Nublar, the remote island site of two former theme parks that featured live dinosaurs, is threatened by an impending volcanic eruption, former park operations manager Claire Dearing (Howard) teams up with her former lover, animal trainer Owen Grady (Pratt), to save some of the remaining dinosaurs, including the last surviving velociraptor that was trained by Grady. Once on the doomed island, though, the pair discover a far-reaching plot to save the dinosaurs for reasons far more nefarious than conservation by people who are willing to kill to keep their actions a secret from the outside world. As always, life finds a way.
After Penelope (Wasikowska), the love of his life, is kidnapped and held captive, pioneer Samuel Alabaster (Pattinson) heads west with dreams of rescuing and marrying her. It doesn't take long before the simple journey devolves into anything but.
