The hunt for the ultimate Iron Chef begins this Wednesday, June 15. That's when the all-new, highly anticipated "Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend" finally arrives on Netflix.

"Iron Chef" fans have been looking forward to the streamer's revival of the high-octane culinary competition ever since it was announced back in January. The concept originated on Japan's Fuji Television Network, and Netflix has stressed that the new series is based on the original Japanese format.

Food Network's "Iron Chef America" is probably the incarnation that most people remember, mind you, since it was a massive hit in North America from 2004 to 2018. And if that series holds a special place in your heart, you'll be happy to know that some key personnel have returned for the reboot, including executive producer/director Eytan Keller.

Without question, the most famous familiar face (and voice) of the Iron Chef franchise is Alton Brown, who returns as host of the revival and will provide commentary alongside "Top Chef" Season 10 winner Kristen Kish. Actor/martial artist Mark Dacascos will also be back as The Chairman.

You probably know some (if not all) of Netflix's five new Iron Chefs who will defend Kitchen Stadium against the Challenger Chefs. They include celebrity chef Curtis Stone; three-Michelin-star chef Dominique Crenn; frequent "Chopped" judge Marcus Samuelsson; "Simply Ming" host Ming Tsai, who defeated Bobby Flay in Season 1 of "Iron Chef America"; and famed Mexico City restaurateur Gabriela Cámara.

Andrew Zimmern and recurring "Top Chef" judge Nilou Motamed will serve as the judges, with guest appearances from "Machete" (2010) actor Danny Trejo, culinary icon Wolfgang Puck, Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and more.

The Challenger Chefs, meanwhile, are Mason Hereford, Curtis Duffy, Claudette Zepeda, Esther Choi, Gregory Gourdet, Mei Lin and Yia Vang, the most successful of whom gets to return in the grand finale for a chance at the title of the first-ever Iron Legend.

If you're in need of a show to binge-watch on a rainy day, this might be it -- all eight 45-minute episodes of "Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend" will be released at once on Netflix Wednesday, June 15.
