Iain Glen, best known now as the endlessly faithful Jorah Mormont on "Game of Thrones," has been keeping busy with a number of projects, most of which you probably couldn't have seen even if you knew about them.

Glen is a Scottish actor, and most of his work has been done on the other side of the Atlantic. That remains true now, even though "Game of Thrones," which he exited shortly before its conclusion in 2019, certainly raised his profile in North America.

There have been a few exceptions, but those were made hard to find because they were on streaming platforms to which not everyone subscribes. For example, he had the honor of playing Bruce Wayne on the teen-superhero series "Titans" in 2019, but it was released via the comic-focused streaming service DC Universe.

In 2020, he starred in another kid-focused show — a remake of the classic "Black Beauty" — made available exclusively on the still-young Disney streaming service.

Those two factors — European production and streaming distribution — combine on his next project, the dramatic miniseries "The Rig," in which he stars as the manager of an offshore oil rig struck by a mysterious disaster. It's being produced in his native Scotland for Amazon Prime U.K. Fortunately, though, it's likely to be made available on the U.S. and Canadian versions of Prime as well.
