I can tell you that it will be coming right on schedule.

Fans have been waiting a while for news of the sixth season of Hallmark's beloved historical drama, but Hallmark has kept faith with them by sticking to (basically) the exact same schedule it has for the past three seasons: After airing a special Christmas episode on Dec. 25, the show is returning on Feb. 24.

Hallmark released a 30-second promo for the new season when it announced this news, but it was pretty light on plot details. I can tell you that it will be making the most of its historical angle in an episode where the town gets its very first telephone -- that's quite a charming little plot point.

But that, of course, is a minor detail compared to the much larger change brought by [ALERT: spoilers from the Christmas special follow] the birth of Elizabeth's baby, whom she named after his fallen father, Jack.

Jack Wagner, who stars in the show as lawman Bill Avery, said that the little addition will provide a great big change.

"I think it's a great choice for the show. It's like another chapter on top of the romantic chapter, on top of the town chapter, and I think to have a baby now is just a new chapter in this sort of big book of 'When Calls the Heart.'"
