It's true they're planning one. Whether it gets made is yet to be determined.

The "they" in this scenario is Disney Plus (the mega-company's new online-video service) and Matt Nix, creator of USA Network's hit spy drama "Burn Notice" along with a number of less successful series, most recently the superhero drama "The Gifted."

Note that at this point it's just an idea. Deadline.com, which broke this story back in December, said at the time that the remake idea was "gathering momentum" and "heating up for a green light." Nothing has been heard since.

As for details, all that's been said is that it would indeed be a remake of Disney's 1989 surprise hit comedy "Turner & Hooch," about an obsessive and by-the-book cop named Turner (originally played by a young Tom Hanks) who is forced to partner, and live, with a misbehaved, beer-drinking dog named Hooch (the pet of his recently deceased human partner).

However, we can answer the biggest question on most people's minds: Will the original film's title star return? And sadly the answer is no. Beasley the dog, who played Hooch, died in 1992.
