Not exactly, but close.

The fourth season of Netflix nostalgia-fest "Stranger Things" boosted its period cred by including a number of '80s pop songs on its soundtrack. Most notably, Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" had a major chart resurgence thanks to its use in multiple episodes.

Another example is "Separate Ways" by Journey, which gives some emotional heft to the end of the penultimate episode of the season. Die-hard Journey fans know this one was released in 1983 — but they also know it didn't sound like this.

The "Stranger Things" version is a remix by Bryce Miller and Alloy Tracks with help from Journey singer Steve Perry himself.

They sent the singer their first remix of the song and "I was stunned at how cool it was," Perry told Variety magazine. "One week later, I had an idea for an extended version, so I called Bryce and we assembled our extended remix."

Perry said he's "a huge fan" of the show and was delighted to play a part in the new season.

Given all the good press and attention the show's soundtrack has gotten this season, expect even more '80s classics (originals and remixes) whenever the show's fifth and final season airs (no release date has been announced yet).
