I appreciate how you phrased that, because giving away much about the identity of "the woman in the hospital" would spoil much of the plot of the episode (and potentially the whole season, since she seems plugged into Callen's past). However, I can talk about the identity of the person playing her: That's former supermodel Joan Severance.

Severance transitioned from an early-'80s modeling career to a very '80s acting career, appearing in such films as the Richard Pryor comedy "See No Evil, Hear No Evil" and the Hulk Hogan action pic "No Holds Barred," both in 1989, and the 1990 Mel Gibson action-comedy "Bird on a Wire."

Interestingly, "See No Evil" brought her back together with her former TV partner Kevin Spacey (both in supporting roles), with whom she previously worked on the crime drama "Wiseguy." Severance's other TV credits include "Love Boat: The Next Wave" in the late '90s, and, more recently, the MyNetworkTV prime-time soap "Wicked Wicked Games."
