No on two points, and it's a good thing you're asking me and not him because it's "a bit of a sore point."

British big-screen tough guy Jason Statham did compete in the Commonwealth Games -- which are largely seen as warm-ups for the Olympics -- but it was in diving, not swimming. And he didn't bring home any hardware.

He was selected to represent Britain in the 1990 Commonwealth Games, competing in the one-meter, three-meter and 10-meter events, finishing in eighth, 11th and 10th places, respectively. They were good showings on the international stage but not enough to get promoted to the biggest stage of all -- and that fact still bothers the multimillionaire film star.

"It's a bit of a sore point I never got to the Olympics," he said in an interview with the Press Association in 2016.

Of course, it wasn't a total loss. Shortly after the Commonwealth Games, he was scouted by a modeling agency, and then by director Guy Ritchie to co-star in his groundbreaking gangster comedies "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" (1998) and "Snatch" (2000). Those turned Statham into an in-demand action hero.

His most recent film has brought him back to the water -- his monster-shark action picture "The Meg" is in theaters this month.
