Your best bet when trying to contact actors by mail is to go through their agents or managers. In former "JAG" star David James Elliott's case, that means the Gersh Agency (9465 Wilshire Blvd., 6th floor, Beverly Hills, CA, 90212) or Jeff Goldberg Management (817 Monte Leon Dr., Beverly Hills, CA, 90210).

It's a good idea to write the actor's name on the letter as well (for example, "David James Elliott, c/o the Gersh Agency"), to avoid getting your letter dumped into the slush pile along with the thousands of application letters any entertainment company receives.

Indeed, it seems as if good old paper mail is the best way to contact Elliott -- he launched a Twitter account in mid-2011 (it being one of the more modern ways actors keep in touch with their fans), but abandoned it just over a year later. He also has an official website, davidjameselliottofficialsite.com, but he seems to have little to do with it personally.

Though most of his fan mail is likely inspired by his time playing Harmon Rabb in "JAG," still his best-known role, he hasn't given up on winning new fans, and has been working steadily since the show ended in 2005. He just finished a sizable role in the second season of ABC's "Secrets and Lies," and will appear in the indie thriller "Public Affairs" later this year.
