Though they are about the same age and do look somewhat similar, Josh and Jessica Bowman hail from different continents and are not related.

If you did want to see what a female version of Josh Bowman looks like, you could try seeking out old episodes of "Hollyoaks" or "The Cut," two British TV shows that featured his actual sister, Scarlett Bowman.

She stayed in their native England to pursue an acting career, while Josh left for America.

Not at first, though. His first screen appearance was in an episode of the British kids' series "Genie in the House" in 2007.

His first American role was in the failed 2010 pilot "Betwixt." However, the next pilot he did, for the ABC mystery-drama "Revenge," was successful and made his move to the U.S. more or less permanent.

Jessica Bowman, on the other hand, was born just a few hours north of Hollywood, in Walnut Creek, Calif.

She got into acting much earlier, and though she was just 15 when she joined the cast of "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" in 1995, it wasn't her first role.

She first appeared in the 1993 direct-to-video comedy "Remote." Like Josh, her TV career got off to a sort of false start: She landed a lead role in the CBS drama "The Road Home" in 1994, but it was canceled after six episodes.

Her next series-regular role was a little safer, joining "Dr. Quinn" after it had already been on for two hit seasons.

Though her performance on that show won her all sorts of acclaim, including two Young Artist Awards, her career sort of fizzled out shortly after "Dr. Quinn" ended in 1998.

There were a couple of TV movies she did, including a "Dr. Quinn" continuation in 2001. After that, she's appeared in just three films, most recently in the 2011 short "Striker."
