Q&A

Q: I was a fan of "Resurrection" and I was told it will not be coming back. Is there any chance of one episode being made to at least tie up all the loose ends we fans were left with? I think we deserve at least that much.

Fans of the ABC drama "Resurrection" certainly do deserve a satisfying wrap-up -- especially the ones who stuck with it all the way to the end of season 2, as the mystery got deeper and the viewership got smaller. But it doesn't seem likely.

The ratings decline is one reason: the season 2 finale drew just 4.6 million viewers, which may sound like a lot, but was just half of what the show's first episode got.

However, there are other reasons we won't see a wrap-up episode. That season 2 finale (now the series finale) aired almost a year ago, which might as well be 100 years in TV-schedule time. It's pretty rare that a show goes that long between episodes, especially if it hasn't even started shooting in the meantime.

That brings us to the third reason: the actors have moved on to other full-time roles.

Series star Omar Epps, who played Agent Bellamy in "Resurrection," has signed on as a supporting star of the upcoming USA Network action-drama "Shooter."

Frances Fisher, who played Lucille, whose son's inexplicable return from the dead kicks off the show's central mystery, has a couple of film roles on the go -- the animated comedy "The Potters" and the recently announced biopic "Grace and Grit," due out in 2016.

Two other "Resurrection" stars, Kurtwood Smith and Kathleen Munroe, have reteamed for "Patriot," a political thriller whose pilot is being produced by Amazon, to be streamed online.
