Q&A

Q: I thought I heard Cedric the Entertainer say on a talk show that he is leaving as host of "Millionaire." Is that true? And if so, who is going to be taking over as host?

Cedric the Entertainer's curiosity only lasted a season, and he no longer wants to know "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" Fortunately, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star Terry Crews now wants to find out.

Crews will take over from Cedric, who in turn took over the popular quiz show last year from long-standing host Meredith Vieira, who quit after 11 seasons.

Cedric cited an increasingly busy schedule along with the show's plan to start filming in Connecticut (it currently films in New York) as reasons for his departure.

"With the many television and film projects that I have going on which shoot and promote in various parts of the country, a production base in Connecticut would make it quite difficult to maneuver the many moving parts on my plate," he said in a not-so-entertaining official statement.

Hopefully, Crews' run on "Millionaire" will last longer. "Variety" magazine reports that the show's schedule will accommodate his commitments to "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (so no worries there).

"Variety" also cited unnamed sources saying that ABC got him to sign on to "Millionaire" by promising an even higher-profile hosting gig in the future.

Apart from appearing as Sgt. Jeffords on "Brooklyn," Crews also appears in the "Expendables" film franchise and previously starred on the hit sitcom "Everybody Hates Chris."
