It's not only him, it's the whole band.
Canadian pop band The Barenaked Ladies released the theme song as a single about a month after the show premiered.
It's an extended version of what plays over the TV show's intro, which is good as the intro clocks in at well under a minute.
It's also good as the song's lyrics attempt to describe the entire history of the universe in three verses and a chorus, so they could use the extra time.
It's obviously a good fit for the series, which follows a group of brilliant but socially awkward physicists who get a crash course in real life from the girl next door.
And penning the theme to a sitcom was obviously a good fit for Barenaked Ladies, a band as well known for their comedic stage personas as for their pitch-perfect harmonies.
In listing the song as one of the five best TV themes of all time, Jacksonville Examiner art critic Samantha Holloway described it as "fast and smart and hard to catch all the words of but... it only takes a couple episodes to get hooked on the fun of it."
