Q: Here's a random question: it looks like Gordon Ramsay has really big feet -- is it true or is it just the angle of the cameras?

Amazingly enough, I know the answer to this. He does, in fact, have enormous feet.

This is public information because the L.A. Times asked him in an interview what his most useless talent is and he answered almost without hesitation: "My size 15 feet."

Ramsay is famous for his overstatements, and he didn't disappoint when describing his paws, which he referred to variously as "works of art," "machines" and "torpedoes."

He said they come in handy particularly when he's doing Ironman Triathlons, which include a 3.8-kilometre swimming portion. He said that they "save my life in a triathlon" and that they allow him to "swim past dolphins."

He also said that, along with being extra long, his feet are particularly wide, and that he has to get special sneakers to fit them (he mentions Asics as his brand of choice).

We should take the bit about swimming faster than dolphins with a generous pinch of salt -- after all, a few years ago he had to walk back some of his boasts about the success of his professional soccer career. But as for the rest, the camera doesn't lie.
