Q&A

Q: Can you please let me know what happened to "Chrisley Knows Best"? It's my favorite show, and I watch all the reruns I can.

You'll have to content yourself with reruns for a little while, but not too long.

The fifth season of the hit USA reality show "Chrisley Knows Best" ended in April, but the network wasted little time in telling people it would be back. The show's season finale aired April 11, about the same time that the network started airing a 15-second promo commercial saying that new episodes would return "this fall."

The season ended in a particularly dramatic fashion, with family matriarch Nanny Faye getting arrested for her frankly terrible driving. (You've mentioned watching the show in reruns, so I won't say how that played out at the end of the episode.)

The series follows the now-familiar celeb-reality pattern, centered around the home life of a wealthy and semi-famous personality -- Todd Chrisley is a self-made real estate millionaire in Georgia. As usual, the celebrity's quirky family members are half the fun and prove to be even stranger than the star. Interestingly, Chrisley is among the least famous celebrities to get this treatment, and yet the show has proven very successful, which suggests he and his family are just particularly suited to TV.

Its ratings support that conclusion. The season 5 finale was the second-most-watched cable show on the night, beaten only by its lead-in, "WWE SmackDown."
