Fish on: Everyone loves a good murder mystery, and when the gruesome tales are wrenched straight out of the headlines, it can make for some of the most compelling stories around -- even when the killers are (literally) cold-blooded.

"River Monsters" returns to Animal Planet for a deadly sixth season on Sunday, April 6, and this time around Jeremy Wade's sticking to the Amazon.

Throughout "River Monsters'" five hit seasons, the biologist and self-professed "extreme angler" has traveled to some of the most remote and difficult to reach rivers and lakes around the globe in his tireless quest to fish up some of the deadliest freshwater fish out there. Each episode typically opens with Wade heading to the location of a fish attack ripped from the headlines -- piranha attacks, alligator gar killings, vampire-like lamprey scares and some really, really big catfish.

Most of these fish have a reputation for being man killers, and Wade's on a mission to find out whether the grizzly stories are true, or just another fish tale.

Season 6 will focus exclusively on the Amazon basin, despite it being the host of several previous episodes. Having spent a year probing its depths deeper than he ever has before, Wade will no doubt have some harrowing "monsters" to show off.

It's really no wonder that "River Monsters" is the No. 1 show on Animal Planet. Wade's passion comes through the screen no matter where in the world he ends up, and his love of the subject matter is obvious. Not only is he hunting down and fishing up these river monsters, but he also examines their biology and habitats, explores how they've impacted and shaped local cultures, and even checks out some other local species while he's in the area.

It's fun and educational, and at the end of the day we get to watch a professional fisherman reel in some big honking fish. Don't miss the six season of "River Monsters" premiering on Animal Planet Sunday, April 6.

Blackburn's back: The spooky little town of Ravenswood may be behind him, but Tyler Blackburn's Caleb Rivers is headed home to Rosewood.

"Pretty Little Liars" has been a bona fide hit for ABC Family -- its spinoff, not so much. "Ravenswood" was officially canceled in February after only a single season, but its headlining star won't have to worry about looking for work; it's already been announced that he'll be returning to "Pretty Little Liars" early in the fifth season after it kicks off on June 10.

As Caleb, Blackburn's been either loved or hated by the fans of both shows, and his return to "Pretty Little Liars" is sure to spark some strong emotions on both sides of the fence.

His role in "Pretty Little Liars" has definitely been his breakout, but it's far from his only claim to fame. Blackburn got his start on TV back in 2005 when he appeared in Nickelodeon's "Unfabulous." He had a multi-episode arc in "Days of Our Lives," popped up in "Cold Case" and in teen show "Gigantic." On the big screen, he headlined the independent film "Peach Plum Pear" (2011).

Although it's not yet clear whether any of Blackburn's "Ravenswood" co-stars will be joining him in "Pretty Little Liars," the impending reunion with his "Liars" co-stars has certainly been getting fans all atwitter.

With season 4 of "Pretty Little Liars" having wrapped up only last month and season 5 set to premiere on June 10, fans don't have to worry about too long of a break without the hit ABC Family show.

A new affair: One of the USA network's hit dramas is headed back to the screen, and it's bulking up its cast for the anticipated new season.

Nicholas Bishop has joined the cast of "Covert Affairs" just in time for the series' fifth season, which fans will be excited to learn returns this summer.

The Australian actor will be playing a handsome and charming former Navy SEAL-turned-billionaire who ends up in an ever-intensifying relationship with Annie (Piper Perabo, "Looper," 2012).

Bishop starred in ABC's medical drama "Body of Proof" as former cop Peter Dunlop. He's had appearances in a number of hit shows, too: "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Castle," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "The Glades," "Hot in Cleveland" and "Necessary Roughness" have all seen his name in their credits. Back home in his native Australia, he's probably best known for his longtime role as Peter Baker in "Home and Away."

He'll be joining an established and talented cast in "Covert Affairs." Alongside Perabo, the drama also stars Christopher Gorham (""Ugly Betty"), Kari Matchett ("Men With Brooms," 2002), Anne Dudek ("House M.D.") and Peter Gallagher ("The O.C.").

"Covert Affairs" follows a CIA operative (Perabo) as she goes deep undercover to bring down some of the most insidious elements of the criminal underworld. Watch for season 5 to premiere on USA some time this summer.
